Development Zones in Asia Borderlands Writing Workshop

The workshop will focus on special development zones as a model of capital accumulation, a heuristic device through which to understand development, foreign investment, modernist fantasies and the changing power dynamics in Asian borderlands. This two-day workshop will not only be an opportunity to share our respective work, but also to develop our ideas into a larger publication (book) on the theme of Special Development Zones in Asian Borderlands at a major university press. The workshop will also present an excellent opportunity for new research collaborations and networking.
